Hooded Scarf

As winter came, I had need for a warm accessory. With long hair, hats and scarves can be a difficult combination. This super-long scarf has a built-in hood large enough to house a bun.

Made with chunky yarn and a large hook, The Hooded Scarf is quick and easy to crochet. The pattern is suitable for beginners.

The Hooded Scarf is available as a free recipe-style pattern on blogger. The paid version includes more detailed instructions on how to create The Hooded Scarf, instructions on how to crochet the flowers to decorate the scarf with, and recipe-style instructions on how to create a lighter scarf without a hood.

This style isn’t that fussy about gauge. You can use almost any kind of yarn suitable for hook size. The gauge on the purple model scarf is 12 stitches and 6 rows in a 4″ x 4″ square.

  • plenty of chunky yarn
  • crochet hook size 5mm/US 8
  • lighter yarn in contrast color (feel free to use any kinds of left over you have)
  • tapestry needle for weaving in ends and sewing on embellishments
